My story

Kirby’s journey hasn’t been the easiest, but this sweet girl is finally ready to find a forever family to call her own. Since her rescue, she’s blossomed into a loving, curious, and playful companion who just needs a bit of patience to fully shine. Though she likely didn’t have much leash experience in her past, Kirby has taken to daily walks with surprising grace. She’s learning quickly, enjoying the chance to explore the world alongside her people, and growing more confident each day. In the comfort of a safe space, Kirby’s playful side has started to emerge—her puppy energy peeks through as she discovers the joy of toys, zoomies, and companionship. She’s crate trained and housebroken, finding comfort and security in her crate both at night and during the day. Kirby does well with other dogs, especially males, and finds comfort in their presence. With a proper introduction, she’d thrive in a home with a calm and confident dog who can help show her the ropes. She’s also met cats and, after some initial curiosity, now seems content to coexist with them—she’s relaxed, gentle, and shows great promise as a feline-friendly pup. While she’s still working on basic commands (we’re looking at you, “sit”), Kirby is smart, eager to please, and shows all the signs of a dog who’s ready to learn with the right guidance. What Kirby really needs is someone who will see her potential—someone patient and loving, who can help her continue to build confidence and feel safe in the world. In return, she’ll give you loyalty, affection, and the kind of quiet joy that comes from watching a once-timid pup blossom into her best self. If you’ve got room in your heart for a sweet soul still learning how to trust, Kirby just might be the perfect match. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home.
