My story

  With a little persistence and patience you'll bound to have many Eureka moments in your future! This somewhat shy and awkward momma came into the shelter with a fungal infection (ringworm) and six kittens. To say she is happy those kittens found placement in a foster home so she can relax would be an understatement, so Eureka is more than ready to begin her new journey. Give her a little time to settle in and build a bond and this shy lady will start coming around and seeking out all sorts of attention, maybe even those elusive belly rubs we all crave! She likely wouldn't do well in a home with really young kids while she is still lacking in confidence, but maybe one day! Ringworm care can actually be a breeze with the right set-up and if you have the time to dedicate to it, but can be a bit tedious since it can spread easily to any living creature and requires some caution to prevent that. Ideally we would love to find a home without any really young kids or other pets, just to limit the risk of exposure, unless the home has enough space to keep everyone fully and safely separated. PAWS provides all of the medications and other treatments needed at our clinic, so please read through the info linked below and if you feel like your home would be a fit you can apply and reach out to us to learn more! This is not a walk-in facility, so please email adoptions@phillypaws.org to set up a time to meet this kitty! **This pet is currently being treated for ringworm, a mild fungal infection of the skin that usually clears up within 6-8 weeks of starting treatment. All the follow-up care we provide for your ringworm pet is free of charge at a PAWS facility while they finish their treatment with you, and we are with you every step of the way! You can learn more about adopting a pet with ringworm here.** **Because this pet isn't yet altered, they are only eligible for adoption via our Pre-Adopt program, which will require an extra verification step as well as a $100 deposit per animal that is fully refunded after their spay/neuter surgeries. Adoption fees are as follows, plus tax: $150 for large adult dogs (older than 1 year); $250 for small dogs (under 25 lbs) and all puppies (under 1 year); $60 for adult cats (over 6 months of age), $100 for kittens (under 6 months of age), and $25 for small animals. When you adopt a pair of kittens together, the total adoption fee is $150.  PAWS, the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit animal rescue organization dedicated to saving Philadelphia's homeless and at-risk animals.
