The very first thing that Wiley wants to make clear is that he is an absolute lover. Wiley is believed to be a Fox Terrier / Jack Russel mix, per the Missouri shelter. All we know for sure, is he has an amazing temperament and is a wonderful dog! This 1 and a half year old, 30 lb guy truly lights up the room with his friendly, wiggly energy. Wiley is at such a great age. He's old enough to be past babyish behaviors and young enough to have many, many healthy and active years ahead. His weight is the perfect size for hiking the mountains of Colorado (and absolutely love it!) and then at days end to cuddle close on the couch or bed all night long. Wiley is simply a joy to be around. With his endlessly wagging tail and warm, friendly spirit, he greets every new person like a long-lost friend. He’s a pro-level snuggler who adores curling up with his foster for cozy naps and quiet moments. Wiley’s gentle, social nature extends to other dogs, too — he gets along beautifully with every pup he meets. Whether he’s making new friends on a walk or soaking up affection at home, Wiley’s sweet, loving personality shines through in everything he does. We envision Wiley with active retirees that are searching for a wonderful fuzzy guy as a best friend. Wiley will blossom with the love and attention that retirees often bestow on their pets. Wiley would also do well with a family with older kids (we're always concerned about tail-pulling and awkward handling of smaller dogs by very young children) who want a very handsome and loving dog as a family member and best companion. We're also open to a younger family for Wiley that works just part-time or from a home-based office. . He will be so excited to spend his days in the company of his favorite people. Being a Terrier mix, Wiley loves physical exercise as well as mental stimulation. He'll be a natural in positive reinforcement / force free obedience classes. He'll love the challenge and is so smart and wanting to please that we have no doubt that he'll excel. Farfel's feels so strongly that positive training classes are imperative for the long-term relationship between humans and dogs that we're unwilling to adopt Wiley to a family that doesn't choose this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force free trainers in your area. Wiley has been fully vetted and vaccinated to receive his interstate health certificate. He has also been neutered to fulfill Farfel's commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs that won't contribute to the overpopulation tragedy in the canine population. Wiley is available for adoption now. Applications are currently being accepted for our gorgeous pup. If interested in this very cuddly and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Wiley please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Wiley, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
