My story

Mulberry tolerates some attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.A volunteer writes:Mulberry came to us with another kitty(Byzantium) and three large dogs as their owner lost their home. She had quite a hard time until recently when I guess, she became herself again...It often happens when a former pet settles down and starts trusting its caretakers. Mulberry is now rarely in hiding. She rests  most often in the middle of her living room, comes at the call of her name, samples a few treats and leans gently for petting. She clearly enjoys the attention but I handle her with care as I know how painful and stressful her losses were to her.
