My story

Meet Maddox! Maddox is such a special and amazing boy. He spent nearly 18 months in a shelter, waiting to be picked but no one ever came for him. He came into the shelter as a puppy and grew up within those walls. When we heard about his plight, we had to help him. Maddox is now in a foster home and he is just wonderful.   From his foster family: Maddox is charismatic, playful, entertaining, and sweet. He loves EVERYONE who comes to the house. He’s excellent with kids.  He was fantastic with our neighbor dog and we were told by the shelter that he was amazing with other dogs.  Maddox hasn’t been around cats and he does chase squirrels, so a family with a cat would probably not be the best fit. This guy is an absolute love and is so happy to finally be in a home. He greets family members with an exuberant “hello” whenever they’ve been away. He sleeps in his crate at night with a little help from some treats; there is no whining at night but we are working on getting him to actually enjoy his crate rather than just tolerate it.   Maddox is feels most comfortable when he is at our side and we’re also working on helping him feel comfortable being out of our sight for longer and longer periods of time. On-leash walking is going very well.  He needs a good walk (or 2) a day and/or backyard play.  He is incredibly loving and will make a wonderful pet for an active person or family.  Maddox is strong and healthy but has had two mild seizures since his arrival with us. He will be on medication for this which will control the seizures but it is always possible that he will suffer another one. We hope that a loving family will not be deterred from adopting him. He is so deserving. Maddox is vaccinated, chipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $395 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!
