My story

Hello, my name is: GroverDOB: 4/19/2020Sex/Breed: Neutered male Chihuahua mixWeight: 22 lbsRescued From: Owner surrenderOur hearts broke hearing Grover`s story. This sweet boy lost his human mom and the remaining family member was going to abandon him or worse. Thankfully, he found his way to us after being completely shut down and scared in the shelter.Foster care has been a game-changer for Grover. He was initially very fearful and withdrawn. The love and patience of his foster mom pushed through that scared shell and coaxed him into a much more confident boy. Seeing him learn to trust has been truly heartwarming! He is a completely different dog than when he first arrived in foster care! Watching him run zoomies and play tag in the backyard with his canine and human pals has been incredible! A quieter home would be his ideal sanctuary. He`d do best with older, understanding kids who can respect his initial shyness. We`re also so proud of Grover`s progress on his weight loss journey! He`s down to 22 pounds and feeling much better, though he`s still got a little more to go. He enjoys his gentle exercise and is doing great on his diet. Grover is crate trained, house trained, and does well in the car. Could you be the loving forever home Grover deserves after everything he`s been through?
