My story

Meet Ernie—a sweet, gentle boy who quickly makes himself at home wherever he goes. While spending time in foster care, Ernie appeared fully house-trained, signaled when he needs to go outside, and slept soundly through the night on his dog bed. He’s still working on crate training, but he is not destructive in the home. He prefers to nap in the same room as his people, occasionally checking in for reassurance before dozing back off.This handsome pup is a true people-lover. He greets everyone warmly, is wonderful with children, and especially enjoys spending time with his favorite humans. On walks, Ernie is polite on leash—no pulling, though he does like to zig-zag to take in all the smells.He knows all his basic commands, responds obediently, and loves to please. Car rides are another favorite—he’s happy to be harness-secured and along for the trip. When it’s playtime, Ernie adores plush toys (especially squeakers!) and will happily entertain himself both inside and outside. At heart, Ernie is a loyal, affectionate companion who will stay close by your side. With his good manners and loving nature, he’s ready to find his forever family.All adoptable pets are spayed/neutered (or scheduled), vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to go home today! No pre-application or appointment needed—just bring a valid ID and walk in. Our adoption fees are among the lowest in Cincinnati!To meet our animals, visit our Northside shelters any day from 1–6pm.
