At 10 years young and just 42 pounds, Stella is a gentle, low-energy husky mix who is all about soaking up the simple pleasures in life—soft beds, sunny spots, and quiet companionship. Stella has some age-related things going on, but none of it dims her gentle spirit or her love for the little joys—like easy strolls, mellow playdates, and affectionate head scratches. She’s been a lovely, polite guest in playgroups at the shelter and enjoys the company of other dogs who are calm and respectful like her. Stella's foster family @nacho.cheese.dog gave us this update:  "Stella has adjusted so well since we brought her home. She gets along well with our Great Pyrenees, and even though he wants to play more often than she does, she gently but firmly holds her own even though he is twice her size. She does well on walks and hasn't reacted to other dogs we might encounter on the street. She walks pretty briskly; we can't believe she's ten years old! She has the calm demeanor of a senior dog but the confidence and curiosity of a younger one." What Stella’s looking for is simple: a soft place to land, a family to adore, and someone who understands that seniors are the hidden gems of the dog world.
