My story

Meet Fancy Pants – your low-riding adventure buddy! Fancy Pants is a 4-year-old, 50-pound sweetheart who's equal parts chill companion and curious explorer. With his adorable short legs and soulful eyes, he’s ready to steal your heart (and maybe a few treats along the way). He’s calm, affectionate, and full of quiet curiosity. Fancy Pants walks like a dream on leash – no pulling, just lots of time spent savoring every good smell. He might linger here and there, but a few gentle pets will usually encourage him to move along. While car rides aren’t his favorite just yet, he’s making great progress. He currently needs a little lift to get in, but he’s bravely figuring out how to hop out on his own – it's a big jump for his short legs, but he's got courage in spades. Fancy Pants took a busy adoption event in stride. He stayed cool around people and dogs, didn’t pull on the leash, and was easy to guide when he needed a little space. He enjoys saying hi to new people and welcomes affection from friendly strangers. At home, he’s happy with short walks and some off-leash time in a fenced yard. He tolerates baths well, is mildly interested in toys, and is very treat-motivated. He’s currently mastering “sit” – he's almost there, though sometimes his paws pop up from excitement. This sweet boy can be a little timid in new situations, but with a calm environment and a gentle touch, he quickly warms up. He’s got a brave heart, a mellow spirit, and so much love to give. If you're looking for a loyal, easygoing companion who’s happy to explore the world at your pace, Fancy Pants might just be your perfect match. As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines.
