My story

  Imagine an 11-pound doggy princess who prefers LARGE to small, and you have one-year-old Kristen! Once past her initial shyness, she morphed into a sweet and calm cutie pie, gently ruling her foster home like the pretty little princess she is. Kristen’s “signature” moves are rolling over on her back and asking for belly rubs, and then nestling her head in the crook of her foster mom’s neck when she’s holding her. Happiest chilling indoors to frisking about outside, she gets along wonderfully with her small and large doggy foster friends, but absolutely adores her LARGE ones, while blithely ignoring the resident cats. To say she LOOOOVES toys is an understatement, since Kristen loves rooting around the family’s vast toy bin looking for the perfect toy – typically choosing one that’s too big for her. Motivated by food, toys and love, she currently knows no commands, is never crated and is diligently at work on her house-training. Now on the hunt for fur-ever love, Kristen’s “MUST” home has a securely fenced yard since, for the moment, she won’t walk on a leash, and patient adopters who will tenderly complete her training, including her commands, and adore her for being the affectionate little angel she is.  Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
