My story

Meet Petunia, a shining example of resilience and unconditional love. This 9-year-old boxer mix has been through far more than she ever should have. She was originally surrendered to Big Dog Ranch by a concerned neighbor who couldn’t ignore the severe neglect she was suffering—kept tied up outside, underweight, and covered in ticks. Since then, she’s been adopted and returned twice through no fault of her own. Yet through it all, Petunia’s spirit remains unshaken. Don’t let her age fool you—Petunia is full of life and high energy! She loves to play, chase toys, go for walks, and soak up every bit of affection you’re willing to give. She’s great with kids, good with other dogs, and especially enjoys cuddle time after a good play session. Her fun-loving personality and gentle heart make her a joy to be around. Petunia would do best with an owner who has some experience with dogs and understands that love and patience can go a long way. She’s not a fan of cats due to her high prey drive, but would thrive in a variety of home environments, including apartments or condos, as long as she gets regular activity and plenty of attention. After everything she’s been through, Petunia deserves a forever family who will truly see her worth and never let her down.
