My story

sweet pup needs a home!ABITA NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Abita          Best Guess for Breed:  American Pit Bull Terrier/Bulldog mix Best Guess for Age:  3 years old as of April 2025        SEX:   female   Approximate Weight:  48lbs    Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   Shelter; needs foster or forever home in the DC area.   Abita is Looking For:   Her forever home! This sweet, sweet girl is eagerly looking forward to having her own humans for sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up. And snuggles at the end of a fun day together. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed are on her wish list as well. But you know what she wants most of all? To know she's safe and loved.   What Shelter Staff Say About Abita: Abita spent some time on the Dogs Playing For Life Canine Center campus in Florida. There, she received basic training and enrichment, and socialized with other dogs. Abita worked on the Sit and Place commands there. She also worked on loose leash walking and sitting at open doors, waiting to be released to go out. She also got to play with enrichment toys such as food-filled Kongs and food puzzles. She enjoyed playing in group with her dog buddies and was good with dogs who needed a little help socializing with others.  What My Foster Says About Me:  Coming soon! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life!  Please visit us online at      www.luckydoganimalrescue.org   .    BE A FOSTER!!! Fosters make it possible for Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to save and care for homeless and abandoned dogs! To learn about fostering, please contact fostering@luckydoganimalrescue.org! BE A SPONSOR!!!! Sponsors help Lucky Dog support the many dogs we save. To learn more about sponsorship, please contact     info@luckydoganimalrescue.org   ! April 24, 2025, 7:03 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Abita, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
