My story

Meet Sophie! This gal is a 53-pound sweetheart who’s eager to please. Sophie arrived to us as a stray, so while we don’t know much about her story, we know that while in the shelter, she has taken to the routine of shelter life with grace. Sophie walks beautifully on leash, leans in for affection, and has quickly become a staff favorite thanks to her calm, affectionate demeanor. She’s not all that interested in toys right now, but she’ll happily show off her skills and sit for a treat, then soak up all the pets you’re willing to give! If you have a resident pup at home, bring them in for a doggie meet-and-greet to make sure it`s a good match! What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a 5-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take this pet home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff!Be sure to check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours!
