Raza ACCT-A-173527 is a 15-year-old female who came in as an owner surrender on 4/22 due to owner’s health. Raza is a senior lady who her owner described as a low energy, couch potato! Her hobbies include napping and relaxing, being groomed or brushed, and being petted. When she does feel like scratching, she enjoys using scratching posts or cat trees. She is lookin for a home with cat lovers who will give her lots of attention! Medical: On 4/25 Doctor noted: “Interpret Labs/Rads Results CBC: WBC 21.51 (H), neutrophils 16.61 (H), suspected bands, platelets 117k (L) w/ platelet aggregates detected Chemistry: Na 166 (H), TP 9.4 (H), globulins 5.9 (H), ALT 179 (H), ALP 62 (WNL) Combo: (-) Blood smear: A few band neutrophils are appreciated, as well as some neutrophils with toxic change. A few lymphocytes are also appreciated. Assessment: 1. Inflammatory leukogram 2. Hypernatremia, high normal hematocrit r/o interstitial dehydration 3. Elevated ALT 4. Hyperglobulinemia r/o inflammation Plan: Gave gabapentin 75 mg PO once prior to blood draw Gabapentin 75 mg PO again at 8 prior to SQF pHyLyte 75 ml SQ once tonight Asked for promotion due to high risk of hepatic lipidosis should anorexia develop.” On 4/23 exam Doctor noted: “Exam limited due to temperament: Bright, alert, responsive, normal mentation. Ceruminal debris AU. Significant amount of dentition is missing including the maxillary canines and premolars. Abdominal palpation obscured due to BCS. BCS 9/9. Matted coat of the caudodorsal abdomen. Spot BG: 97 Pelvic XR: Non-diagnostic radiographs without evidence of orthopedic pathology Assessment 1. Obese, considered high risk for hepatic lipidosis if inappetence develops Plan: Cleaned ears AU, shaved matted fur Attempted blood sample for CBC/chem, could not perform Scheduled for gabapentin tomorrow for attempted blood work Monitoring sheet for appetite placed cageside” On 4/23 intake staff noted: Shedding fur, dandruff, matting towards base of tail. Bright, alert, responsive, vocal and purring/leaning into hand during exam, allowed all handling. Growled when attempted to pick up, attempted to bite when first administering vaccine. Behavior: On 4/24 staff noted: “Very social girlie.
