My story

Cisco, who is 2-years-old, is very friendly and affectionate. He is a gentle soul and would love to have a home of his own forever. He is a handsome, long hair, orange tabby but he had to be shaved because he was matted – but his fur will grow in to be beautiful once again. He was purring the whole time he was being shaved. Cisco was rescued by a kind person who had been feeding him and realized that he had probably been abandoned. Cisco has tested positive for FIV but recent studies have shown that FIV cats can live a normal lifespan. Recent research on FIV cats living with other cats has shown that FIV is not easily passed between cats as it cannot be spread casually through litter boxes, food and water bowls, or snuggling and playing. This disease is transferred when an infected cat bites another cat and breaks the other cat’s skin. This means that a neutered cat in a home is highly unlikely to infect any other cats as long as they are properly introduced or are not particularly aggressive in nature. Cisco is current on vaccinations, is neutered and is microchipped. Our adoption fee for one altered adult cat (1 year to 7 years old) is $85 which helps cover expenses (vaccinations, spay/neuter, food, housing) for the homeless pets United Animal Friends rescues. There is a discounted adoption fee for a second cat that is adopted at the same time. If you have any questions or to adopt a cat from United Animal Friends (UAF) an application must be filled out. Filling out this form does not obligate you to adopt, but gives us the information needed to make sure the pet is suited to your home.
