My story

Hi my name is Lavender and I am so glad you found my profile! I can be a little shy at times, which is why I think I am the last of my litter to be adopted. But do not let my shyness deter you because I come out of my shell quickly! When my foster family took me home, they saw the potential in me that I did not see in myself. They trusted me with free rein of the house, which gave me a lot of confidence, but also a lot of potty accidents (I promise I am getting better). I sleep 8hrs through the night on my dog bed, and really any time that I am tired, you will find me on that dog bed, it is my favorite place to relax.I am a social butterfly, but still trying to find my wings. I love to be involved in all the activities, but I do not like being the center of attention. After multiple play dates, my confidence around other dogs is growing and I want to play all the time. When I am alone though, I am good at entertaining myself with toys, as long as there are plenty to choose from! I am still learning how to walk on a leash and sometimes prefer being carried. My foster family says I am lucky to be a petite little lady (20lbs) because I love it when humans carry me places. It is amazing what a few weeks in foster care can do for a girl like me. I was not expecting to like snuggling, belly rubs, and kissing faces as much as I do. I finally learned how to use the doggy door and use my crate. I can get a little separation anxiety when I lose sight of my foster mamma, but I am learning to trust that she will always come back for me. The shelter believes I am a mix between a Labrador and a Cattle Dog and will be 30-40lbs full grown.
