My story

Meet Birdie – A Sweet and Gentle Soul Looking for Love!Hi, my name is Birdie, and I’m on the search for my forever home! I was found wandering alone, hungry and scared. The kind lady who rescued me gave me my name after she saw me eating bird seed—it’s all I could find at the time. Thankfully, those days are behind me, and I’m now safe in a loving foster home, learning how good life can be.I’m about 2 years old, weigh just over 22 pounds, and I’m not expected to get any bigger. I look like a small terrier mix, with a sweet face and a gentle spirit. When I first meet new people, I can be a little shy—but give me just a little time (and maybe a treat or two!), and I’ll be your best friend, soaking up all the attention you’re willing to give.I get along well with other dogs and enjoy playing with them. I’ve also met a few of those mysterious creatures called cats and haven’t bothered them one bit. I’ve done really well in my crate—no accidents and no tearing up my bedding—but I much prefer being close to my people. If I hear or see you, I might let you know I’d rather be hanging out with you!Leashes are still a little scary for me—I probably never had one before—but my foster mom is helping me learn that they’re not so bad. I think I’d love a home with a fenced yard where I can run, play, and take care of my business at my own pace.If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle companion who’s ready to blossom with a little love and patience, I just might be your girl.
