My story

Meet Maxey (aka Max), a handsome 5-year-old, 50 lb goldendoodle. Max is a well-mannered, housebroken dog who respects boundaries—he doesn’t jump on furniture, counters, or mess with anything that isn’t his. His calm presence indoors makes him a great companion, and he’s the kind of dog who simply wants to be near his people and soak up all the love and attention. Max is generally low-energy inside the home but can be easily triggered into high alert, especially by the doorbell or unfamiliar dogs and people on walks. He is great on walks and really enjoys them. He will pull and bark if he sees other dogs though. He would definitely benefit from some training with this .Max is good with kids, especially older children. He’s protective and affectionate but becomes anxious when there’s a lot of chaotic play or running around indoors. An ideal home for Max would be one with older, respectful kids and a structured routine. He thrives with calm leadership and clear boundaries, and he loves attention—without it, he can get a little mopey.Max enjoys walks and especially loves running and playing in the snow. He knows several commands like “sit,” “paw,” “down,” and “go,” and he’s very responsive to direction from his trusted humans. While he’s not crate-trained, he’s fully housebroken and will alert you when he needs to go outside. He rides okay in the car.Max’s ideal family will be one that understands protective breeds and can offer both affection and leadership. He would do best in a home with a yard or space to let out his energy and a family who can engage him in daily walks or outdoor time. Right now, we think a home with no other pets will be best for him. He has a calm, respectful demeanor in the house and is easy to have around—he truly wants to be a well-behaved companion and just needs the right guidance to shine.
