My story

Meet Huggy Bear, a jovial boy with the best smile! Huggy Bear was found as a stray and brought to the shelter by a good samaritan. Huggy has shown he's a friend to all, both humans and dogs, and has a dainty style of play! Huggy Bear enjoys the finer things in life like sniffing the interesting smells, taking pets, and gently playing with pup pals! Huggy is now available for adoption at ACCT Philly. You can meet him any day from 10am-6pm! Video: Huggy Bear gets pets! https://youtu.be/kGOPehoqkYQ Behavior: Per Volunteer 4/25/25 Behavior Eval: Kennel Presence: Huggy boy had soft sad eyes when I approached his kennel and had his nose right up against the kennel door Leash: I very easily leashed him and he hopped right out of the kennel and shook. He pulls moderately on leash so I would recommend a harness. Handling: He had his nose pinned to the ground most of the time we were outside generally pawing at smells that he found interesting. He takes treats very gently and doesn’t seem to know any commands, but is very food motivated. Didn’t seek out too much affection but took pets from me with a very loose body. Toys: Not too much interest that I saw Color: Gold- easy to handle just a little strong Playgroup 4/23/25: Steerable at the gate, open loose body language, somewhat aloof. Took time to warm-up but did eventually with some of the dogs, tail wags, gave greetings. Gentle/dainty PS to start. Per Staff 4/23/25 8:20 am. Very afraid, tan from me at first but gave in, never tried to bite the stick and started rubbing against my leg. ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in.
