"Hey everyone! Come say hello to ME!" Candy Land will be the first to tell you, maybe we should have named her Chutes and Ladders, since she is loving bopping around HQ, actively greeting everyone and finding out if they're ready for a turn at a favorite board game. This little 12 years-young tan Chi mix will be happy to sit down with you and beat you at a game of Monopoly. Miss Candy L. is an active, energetic, fun little gal who would benefit greatly from a few walks around the neighborhood every day as she needs to shed a few of her 18 pounds. This big, happy girl is just waiting for the right person to come in and play a game with her! Or, at the very least, go out together for an afternoon constitutional. When you come to Muttville, just ask for the joyful bundle of love, Candy Land! Here's some notes from her foster: Candyland is a charmer. She charmed the guests at my dinner party just by snoring at their feet. She loves people and gets along with my dogs and cats. She hasn’t come face-to-face with my rabbits, but she doesn’t go crazy circling their enclosure. Candyland loves to eat. She can get a little protective of her food. I can touch her bowl, but she might snarl if one of my dogs encroaches upon her and her food. If you have a dog that isn’t food-motivated, it would be a good fit. I also think Candyland would be fine as the only dog in a household. Candyland doesn’t have leash aggression. Even when my knuckleheads go nuts at other dogs, she doesn’t join in. Candyland is very quiet – not a barker. She doesn’t seem to have any problems being left alone as she doesn’t cry or whine when I’m gone. She whined a bit in my car, but that went away after a few days. I think she got used to my routine. Candyland is fine on leash. I wouldn’t say she’s a zig-zagger, but she sometimes walks a little too close to me and gets underfoot. She walks better when she’s not walking with other dogs. Candyland enjoys being out and can walk a good mile. Of course, she’ll bepooped afterwards. Candyland sleeps peacefully through the night but needs to go immediately upon waking. When I’m not in the office, she’ll tell me when she needs to go out if we’re in between potty breaks. Candyland sleeps in my bed. Sometimes she gets too close and encroaches upon what little space the other dogs have left me. I just move her, and she gets comfy again and goes back to sleep. Candyland is a very good sleeper. She doesn’t bother or wake me all through the night. Candyland is a true low rider. She doesn’t do stairs. Unless you’re willing to carry her up as well as down, stairs are a no-no. It seems more of a mental than a physical challenge for her, as she seems physically fit and active. Maybe she would be able to if my stairs were carpeted. Overall, Candyland has been an easy foster and a great houseguest. She’s very cooperative. She doesn’t get carsick. She is calm in an elevator. Not a picky eater. Goes with the flow. She acclimated to my routine quickly. She’s smart, friendly, social, and a good companion dog.
