My story

Barn home needed! This cat has been evaluated for behavior and comfort level around humans and determined to be feral or semi-feral. Feral and semi-feral cats are fearful of humans and panic when confined, making placement into an indoor home stressful and upsetting for these individuals. They may have been outdoor cats in a previous home, strays who lived independently from humans, or some other history that makes close contact with humans troublesome. Rather, HSSC is pursuing an alternative outcome in which this cat can provide pest control for a barn, shed, shop, or something similar while a kind human provides shelter from harsh weather and a consistent source of food and water. With this arrangement, independent cats are able to live comfortably in a life that suits them, while community members can set aside their worries about pests!
