My story

MEET BARNABY! - I am in a foster home, please contact the dedham shelter to meet me!*Must go home to a confident and social resident dog!The gentlest soul, Barnaby was surrendered along with 9 of his littermates and has been learning how to trust humans and live in a home environment for several weeks. He has really come out of his shell and learned so many new skills that will be important in his new home, like walking on a leash, putting himself in his crate for meals and bedtime, and going potty outdoors. His dedicated fosters have done a great job at exposing him to new things slowly, and he has made so much progress. He absolutely adores other dogs and dog-friendly cats, and his canine foster siblings help him to navigate the home and new locations with confidence. He is very affectionate and loves attention once he warms up. His foster says he’s a little energizer bunny, always on the go exploring his surroundings, playing with foster siblings and toys. He likes being outside and we learned he loves to swim in a kiddie pool! He would do best in a low traffic environment outside the city where he can learn at his own pace. While he will do well on his own, we think he will benefit more from having a calm, confident dog in the home that can show him the ropes. Barnaby is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and seen by our vet team.For more information on Barnaby or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY. However, we will be unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements.
