Meet Penelope – Safe, Loved, and Ready for Her Next Chapter 44 lbs | 3 Years Old | Rescued 4/2025 Penelope’s journey hasn’t been an easy one, but her story is far from over. When she arrived at the shelter on March 7th, she and her buddy Saint were heartbreakingly thin—clearly neglected and in need of care and kindness. Her intake photo said it all. Despite everything, Penelope remained gentle and resilient. It felt especially unfair when she ended up on the urgent list—until AAHA Rescue stepped in to give her the second chance she so deeply deserves. She’s now out of the shelter, decompressing in safety and comfort, and beginning to experience what it means to feel secure and loved. Penelope is currently settling in, so we’ll be updating her bio soon with more details about her personality, likes, and ideal home once we get to know her better. For now, we can tell you this: she’s safe, she’s healing, and she’s worth it.
