My story

Meet Mike! Born in April 2024, Mike is a GORGEOUS marbled tabby who we believe, thanks to his HUGE ears, wide nose, super-short fur, wedge-shaped head, and remarkable smarts, is likely an Oriental Shorthair mix. This striking boy boasts a velvety coat of black and gray swirls and mesmerizing gold-green eyes. His sleek fur, wild features, and elegant build make him look like he belongs on the savanna. Mike was adopted in December 2024 but was recently returned after the senior resident dog took a disliking to him and began nipping. We didn’t want Mike in a dangerous situation, so he came back to us—and we’re ready to help him find the perfect home. When it comes to personality, Mike is the perfect blend of laid-back and playful. He's affectionate and gentle, happiest nestled close by—on the bed, the couch, or an odd perch of his choosing. He enjoys closeness but only on his terms; being held too much isn’t his style. His quirky sleeping positions earned him the “Funniest Sleeper Award”—you’ll never know where or how you’ll find him next! Mike’s a curious explorer who loves testing boundaries—and your décor. Knick-knacks beware: he’s got a talent for swatting things across the room to help keep your surfaces clutter-free. When he’s not redecorating, you’ll probably catch him watching TV from just inches away. Though calm and easy-going, he needs stimulation and play to stay happy. With the right toys, he’ll entertain himself for ages. He also thrives on companionship and doesn’t like being left alone too long—a second pet could be a great fit. With Mike’s wonderful temperament, we’re confident he’ll be an ideal companion, especially for families who appreciate his sensitivity, brains, and love for connection. Loyal, sociable, playful, and affectionate, Mike is not just a showstopper—he’s a true lap warmer. Mike is child-, cat-, and dog-friendly. He’s neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative.
