My story

Electricity is an adult cat that may not have had many interactions with humans from an early age. She can be sensitive to her environment and requires a slow and considerate approach as she appears wary of human contact at times. We recommend offering high value treats and food to help to continue to build a positive association to humans and handling. Please be mindful that older cats will require more time and skill in order for them to be comfortable around people. While she has made great strides and solicits pets and attention, due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.What my friends at ACC say about me:I have lived with cats in my previous home.I am finding the shelter a bit overwhelming. Outside one-on-one I am a great big cuddle bug.I would do best in a home with only adult humans.A volunteer writes: We've been asking a lot of Electricity and she's been so patient with us. We ask her what kind of treats she likes, if she likes to play and if we can pet her. In response, Electricity tries her very best to meet us halfway. She'll allow us to pet her, but isn't one to take initiative with that. And while she'll have a snack or two, the daily comings and goings of Adoptions can be very distracting. Trying new things when we don't have many other options isn't always easy and it's possible Electricity hasn't had many opportunities to meet new people. She came to us after being found with many other cats abandoned in a building, so we don't know much about her life before but we're sure her future will be very bright.
