My story

*** Topaz is at The Cat Cafe in downtown San Diego. ***Topaz #19562: white w/black spotted, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 5/1/23Cats: goodDogs: okay with introChildren: gentle older kids likely okay BACKGROUND: Topaz was found as a kitten by a local rescuer who had adopted him out to a family; a year and a half later she was contacted that they didn’t want him anymore because he was having some health problems and they refused to take him to a vet. She went and got him, and this time asked The Rescue House if we could help Topaz. When he was checked out, an inflammatory mouth condition called stomatitis was quickly identified. He had a full dental extraction which relieved the primary pain sources, and he is doing much better and happily chowing down on his food. While occasional flare-ups down the road can’t be ruled out and he will need an adopter to be mindful if he ever does need future medication, Topaz has been cleared by the vet and is ready to find a loving forever home!PERSONALITY: Topaz is a very sweet and social kitty! What he likes best is to be near people; he will happily sit with you all day long getting attention. If he is shut away from you then Topaz will cry for the barrier to be removed so he can have the reassurance and comfort of your company. Of course, if you bring out a wand toy, it can be playtime, too! Topaz is a docile boy who likes to be handled gently and is an endearingly sweet fellow. COMPATIBILITY: Topaz was good with the other cats in his foster home. He hasn’t been around dogs for a while but was all right with cat-friendly canines in the past. Gentle older children would likely be fine once he has a chance to settle in to his new home.Topaz is a great cat! Will you give this handsome sweetie a home where he will be loved for the rest of his life? You will gain a wonderful companion in return.
