My story

Meet Thor! This handsome, sensitive boy came to us all the way from Puerto Rico, where many dogs grow up in unpredictable and often overwhelming environments. Because of his background, Thor is naturally shy and timid, especially in new situations or when meeting unfamiliar people. He may take a little time to feel safe, but once he begins to trust, his personality starts to shine—playful, affectionate, and incredibly sweet. Thor absolutely loves to play, and once he’s comfortable, he’ll happily zoom around or engage in gentle games with his favorite toys. He also becomes quite the cuddle bug, seeking out snuggles and leaning in close to the people he trusts most. Thor does very well with other dogs and would likely thrive with a calm, confident canine companion who can help him build confidence and feel more secure. Due to his shy nature, we believe he would not be a good fit for a home with young children, as sudden movements and loud noises can be overwhelming, though we are still learning more about his individual needs. His ideal home would be a quiet, stable environment with patient adopters who are willing to move at his pace, give him time to decompress, and gently help him continue to grow. With love, patience, and consistency, Thor will blossom into a devoted, playful, and loving companion—he just needs someone willing to help him feel safe enough to shine.
