Watch out world, here comes Donut! Donut is estimated to be around 3 months old and she is a bundle of fun, always eager for a new adventure. She is a confident, sassy, and lovable girl who is quick to steal your heart with her goody antics and adorable face. She may be small, but she has a big dog personality and she loves to wrestle and romp around. She is looking for an active family who can keep up with her curious and smart personality. Donut currently weighs around 10-12lbs, and we guess she will be around 30-45lbs when fully grown Donut came to us from a local animal shelter after she was found all by herself in front of a donut shop. An owner never came forward for her, so we quickly scooped her up and she has been thriving in a foster home every since. When we first got her, we thought she was a chihuahua mix, but she seems like she might have some sort of terrier in her mix. All we know is she is 100% adorable! Donut is a true social butterfly and has been loving coming to Yolo SPCA Therapy Fluffy events on the UC Davis campus. She adores being the center of attention and she hasn't met a person she doesn't immediately love. Since she isn'y fully vaccinated yet, she gets to travel in style and loves going for walks in her dog stroller. She is always so excited to go new places and would love to be part of a family who will take her for lots of adventures. Donut is a smart cookie and has been doing well learning all of her basic manners. She needs a family dedicated to continuing her training and socialization to help her be the best girl she can be. Donut loves other dogs and we think she would do best in a home with another playful dog or have lots of dogs friends she can play with often. We haven't seen Donut around cats, but she may do well living with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Donut could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years and older. Donut has been making great progress with her housetraining, but is still learning and her new family will need to be patient with her and be consistent about taking her outside. Donut has been doing well sleeping in a pen at night and hanging out in there for short-periods throughout the day. She would do best with a family who has a schedule that will allow them to slowly acclimate her to being home alone for longer periods. Donut is such a fun girl and she can't wait to start making memories with her forever family! If you think that might be you, submit an adoption application today! Donut's adoption fee is $400. Apply to adopt here! https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/ Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org) It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
