My story

Hi, I’m Chip – a survivor with a big heart and an even bigger smile! If there's anything you need to know about me off the bat, it's that I have been through SO much in my 4 years of life. If you have been following the shelter for a while, I'm from the group of "plane crash" dogs from Louisiana a few years back. After that followed two failed adoptions, going through Heartworm treatment, being adopted again, and now being surrendered through no fault of my own yet again. I cannot catch a break! Despite the challenges I’ve faced, I’ve held onto my joy, my goofy spirit, and my love for life. I’m one of the happiest dogs you’ll ever meet – just give me a toy and watch my tail go! t might take me a little while to warm up to new people – I’ve learned to be cautious – but once I trust you, I’m all in. I can be a little nervous around kids, so I’d do best in a calm, patient home or with older, respectful children who understand that I need a bit of space at first. Now, about toys… I really love them. I might get a little possessive sometimes, but it’s just because they make me feel safe and happy. I’m working on sharing – promise! One of the best parts? I get along wonderfully with other dogs and cats. A home with furry friends would make me feel right at home.
