My story

Don’t be mistaken; this is not a character from the Muppets. This is a real puppy named Copper Tito! She’s adorable, scraggly, and waggly and she's wishing for a forever home. One look from those soulful, brown eyes and you won’t be able to resist her. Copper is just a couple months old but has already perfected the art of kissing. She loves to be wrapped in your arms and give the tiniest kisses. Her little tail wags let you know how happy she is. She's a little shy with people at first, but she doesn’t take long to fall in love. Even when she was a stray, some people were kind to her—and she doesn’t forget that! Copper is from an area in Texas where puppies are regularly euthanized. Some wonderful Tito's Vodka team members fed her and her friends on the streets. They named her Copper after the traditional copper stills in which Tito brews their vodka! They contacted us and we introduced her into a loving foster home. Now Copper is enjoying the sweet life and steadily building her confidence after her rough start. Not one to make any trouble, she's submissive to people and to other dogs. She loves to play! At just over 12 pounds, she doesn't have a lot of weight to push around. But she's working very hard at growing up! That requires lots and lots of naps between kibble and play times. Copper has big dreams for her future. Well, they're big dreams for such a little fluff ball. She wants her very own home and a special human she can count on forever. When she's big enough, she would love to go for leash walks and sniff absolutely everything in the neighborhood. And maybe run errands with you? She's positive she can be a big help. Because she's just a puppy, Copper needs a family who can commit to training, daily exercise, and socialization. We require adoptive families to continue crate training their dogs. It's best for everyone! Copper dreams of spending time with her people in whatever way they prefer — out on adventures, at home playing with toys, or snuggling with a book or a movie. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience! The adoption fee is $1200.00 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectible, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship! Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there!
