My story

Meet Neutrophil — A Gentle Soul Ready for a Second Chance Neutrophil is a stunning grey-blue boy with soft, medium-length fur and soulful deep yellow eyes. This handsome guy may start off a little shy, but once he feels safe and secure, he transforms into a total sweetheart, curling up on top of his favorite people and making the sweetest biscuits. Neutrophil’s journey hasn’t been easy — he came into Chicago Animal Care & Control (CACC) with a broken jaw, likely after being hit by a car. Thanks to surgery and lots of love, he’s healed beautifully and is now ready to find a peaceful forever home where he can thrive. Neutrophil would do best in a quiet, calm home with patient adopters who can give him the time and space he needs to warm up. He would prefer a home without young children, but would do well with older, cat-savvy kids who understand his gentle, cautious nature. Once he trusts you, Neutrophil will lovingly follow you around, winding between your legs in the most endearing way. He’s playful too — he adores batting toys around, chasing string toys, getting the zoomies, and birdwatching from a cozy perch. This soft and snuggly boy enjoys the company of humans but is also perfectly content spending time on his own. He mostly ignores the resident cats in his foster home but has shown a little curiosity about them, suggesting he might coexist peacefully with another calm cat after a proper introduction. One of his favorite games is batting toys under the door and waiting for someone (cat or human!) to kick them back to him — it’s simply adorable! Neutrophil will need a cozy hidey-hole when adjusting to new surroundings, and adopters who can give him the gentle, patient love he so deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who just needs a little time to bloom, Neutrophil is ready to steal your heart.
