My story

I'm not allowed to describe a dog as perfect...So, I won’t tell you how perfectly Bailey's little tail helicopters when you speak to him, spinning so fast you wonder if he's about to achieve flight.I won't tell you how perfectly Bailey walks, no PRANCES, on leash -- thrilled to be going anywhere as long as it's with you.I won’t tell you how perfectly Bailey murmurs back when you talk to him, as if trying to string words together in a language just for the two of you.I won’t tell you how perfectly Bailey zips and zooms in the play yard, a blur of joy in motion, like someone pressed fast-forward on delight.I won't tell you how perfectly housetrained Bailey is (well... no description necessary here!). And I definitely won’t tell you how perfectly Bailey forgives.Just a few weeks ago, Bailey arrived scared, small, and unsure of the world. His former owner had requested euthanasia after a series of traumatic attacks by a new, much larger dog in the home. Bailey, once cherished, had become the one always hurt, and, heartbreakingly, the one deemed too much trouble to keep safe.But Bailey wasn’t out of time. Our vet team stepped in. Love stepped in. And Bailey blossomed.Sweet. Affectionate. Lap-seeking. Heart-stealing. He chirps with happiness, nestles in close, and looks up at you with eyes that say thank you, thank you, thank you.He’s 9 years old, a gentle soul in need of gentle people. No tiny kids, and let's give him a break from other dogs.I'm not saying Bailey's perfect.But if I could... I most certainly would. Come meet him at Animal Aid Society, 80 Butler Farm Road in Hampton.
