My story

Come fall in love with the sweetest boy who will need some time to show you just how amazing he is.Meet Mack. He came into the shelter as a stray on 4/27. This sweet boy was shut down in the shelter and on top of that had some eye issues. After one of our volunteers brought him into our foster office, I just new I had to take him home and give him a break from the shelter. When I first brought him home, he was very shut down. Nervous of the environment and just wanted to stay in his crate and sleep. I was worried he had issues using the bathroom as he would not use the bathroom outside. After 1 day I learned he does not like being on a leash. He refuses to walk or use the bathroom on the leash. I gave him some much needed time to decompress and feel comfortable on his own time. Watching his journey as he progressed daily has shown me that some dogs really just need time to come around. From always wanting to be in his crate to playing with all 3 of my resident dogs, Mack has truly showed me how special he is.Mack is 1 years old and about 35 lbs -he has been dog friendly but please give him slow intros. Mack can be timid and would not appreciate meeting your resident dogs right away. He would do best in a home with another dog. He looks to other dogs to learn how to be a dog and is not intimidated by the size of larger dogs. He lives with a male dog who is 30 lbs, and two female dogs who are 45 lbs, and 68 lbs.-he is crate trained and loves being in his crate. A crate is recommended as he considers that a safe space. Mack is also a silent chewer, he will randomly start chewing on things so I would suggest not leaving him out while you are gone. ( I do have a crate if needed)-he does not like loud noises like blenders and vacuum`s are not his favorite. Please crate him any time you vacuum, he will bite at the vacuum which could be dangerous for him.-he loves toys and benebones. He is not destructive with toys which is nice. He does love socks so watch out lol-he eats in his crate which I am sure you can train him out of. (he will growl sometimes when one of my dogs try`s to approach him as he`s eating but he allows you to pickup his bowl so I do not think he is a resource guarder)-he is very playful with my resident female dog but I would still consider him low energy.-he likes to feel safe and looks to his person for guidance and protection. He enjoys leaning into you and will follow you ar

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Mack, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
