Tiger

My story

A27318 Tiger is a black and gray tabby colored, approximately 2-year-old, 14-pound, neutered male, Maine Coon cat. He entered the shelter as an owner surrender on 04-22-2025 due to the fact his new landlord does not allow cats. Tiger is a friendly, but timid and shy boy here at the shelter. He is still trying to adjust to this loud shelter environment and figure out why he is here. Our staff says he hides behind his litterbox most of the time, looking for that safe space. He does enjoy affection and will lean into head rubs, but you must go slow. We think his personality will come out when he is away from the shelter. We recommend an adult-only home and a patient new owner that will give him time to decompress and get comfortable. In the playroom he picked a safe cubby to hide in and watch the room from. The previous owner said he is litterbox trained and has lived with other cats and children, but not dogs. Tiger will be a loving companion in his new forever home.
