Charlene

My story

Meet Charlene! Charlene is a 10 year old poodle/maltese mix who was pulled as part of “Angel Retreat’s ACCT’s of love” program due to being at risk of euthanasia and needing medical attention in an overcrowded and underfunded urban shelter. Charlene originally came in as a stray, with what was thought to be massive growth on her abdomen. We do not know her past, but we do know she is immensely sweet and very grateful to be in a loving foster home. After doing further evaluation and diagnoses it was determined that Charlene’s mass, hanging from her abdomen, is actually her vulva. Sadly, surgery is not an option for her, due to how long she was left in this condition, and a poor prognosis for being able to successfully reconstruct her vulva. Charlene may have not have had to live with this mass, if the person who owner her before had intervened sooner. Sadly, we cannot change that now but we are happy to report she is very loved and thriving in her wonderful hospice foster home 💗 We are coming to you this $5 Friday to ask your support for our “medical dog” fund. This fund is what we use to be able have the funds to save dogs from situations where medical care is the only thing standing between them and a happy ending.
