My story

Available for Adoption - Nikita Nikita was adopted after she and her siblings were being sold at a flea market. The "owner" had experimented on her by cutting her dew claws AND clipping one of her ears! She was born on 4/8/2022. She is a fawn colored, 50 lb pittie girl with one brown eye, one blueish green eye, and one cropped ear. She would do great with older/teenage kids. She needs to be the only dog in the home. And she would flourish with an active family. She is extremely active. she would be amazing at an agility course! She is highly energetic, very affectionate and loves to touch you/lay on your lap. She is crate and house trained. She knows basic commands (sit, stay, come) and is very smart. She is spayed and UTD on her vaccines. She is Heart Worm Negative. She has some separation anxiety but is learning. She needs a little more training on the leash but as we said she is very smart. She is being rehomed due to an accident with the owner's 10 month, old 2 legged sister. This caused the child's top lip to be split and some bruising on her face. She was playing with a toy and Nikita went for the toy, knocking her down. The hospital marked this as a bite. She was on a 10 day in home quarantine but is all cleared now. Since she is highly active, the family doesn't want to take the chance of it happening again. She was on a 10 day in-home quarantine, but all was clear. Her current owners are absolutely heartbroken to rehome her so are willing to pay for her food and vet bills for the first 6 months. They also want to remain in contact with her new owners as Nikita grows. She has had roughly 10 training sessions. The trainer is in Mt Pleasant and has agreed to provide additional training for free. Nikita is a very sweet and affectionate girl who wants to please her owners. She deserves a home where she can be active and rambunctious. If you are interested, please contact us at friendsofstanlycountyanimals@gmail.com

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Nekita, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
