We know not all dogs are created equal, just like with humans. Some dogs are different and can present different challenges when it comes to finding the most suitable home for them. Like our Stevie boy. Stevie had glaucoma and needed both of his eyes removed. The pressure and pain was ruining his life, but he didn’t need that didn’t need to end it. We removed his eyes and have spent the last month growing his confidence and healing him. Today, Stevie is solid. He has adapted and now sees through his other senses. He loves walks and strolls. He loves to run, and sit by our ponds and listen to his bird friends. He is fully house and kennel trained and can hold it forever. He is soft, sweet, and just wants a place to exist. Having a blind dog is no different than a sighted dog. He learns and adapts to routine well and knows which kennel is his. And how many steps it takes. He can be a hiking partner, running partner, couch potato, all of it. And he can do it while loving his life. Stevie is not limited. He is a solid dog who will thrive with an active family. He seems to prefer being the only dog and loves car rides. This dog is resilient. A tank. He is adaptable and will learn extremely fast. We can’t find this one a home without you guys, please share this post. Please look at the under dogs, please consider dogs with special needs, and PLEASE SHARE THIS EVERYWHERE. Stevie is ready to settle into life with his own family. Help us find that! Head to www.dtranimalfoundation.com to apply! He would love a foster to adopt! 📍 Manhattan, Illinois.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Stevie Wonder, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
