Location: Tipp City, OH Medication: Monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention Meet Lucielle (AKA: Cilley) Cilley’s past hasn’t been sunshine and rainbows. Cilley came into rescue a mere 3 weeks after having her 2nd litter of puppies, leaving her confused after having her world rocked. Eager to help Cilley put motherhood behind her, she was soon taken to the vet for her spay, unfortunately it was then discovered she was positive for heartworm disease. Despite all of the things life has stacked against her, Cilley has never looked back, and now that she is healthy she is looking for her forever home. Cilley is kind, funny, and has never met a stranger. The life of a party, she always has a mega-watt smile stretched from ear to ear. A relatively easy dog, Cilley is going to need a patient owner who understands that this dog’s life has essentially just started. For her entire 3 years of life, Cilley has lived in a kennel in a barn, and in order to give her room to be comfortable yet keep her quiet through her heartworm treatment, she has been kept in a kennel at her foster home too, for the last several months. Because of this, Cilley is working hard on her housebreaking skills. Now, don’t be mistaken, she is doing fabulous, however her adopter needs to realize where she’s come from, and take into account an occasional accident is going to happen. With consistency and time this little girl will be housetrained in no time at all. She is wicked smart and 95% there! Cilley loves a good Hallmark movie, and is content chilling on the couch with her people, yet she also loves to take walks and socialize with everyone she meets along the way. She truly is the best blend of fun, yet chill. Cilley is always trying to make her people laugh by wrestling her dog bed, or slaying her toys on the living room floor, and it’s impossible to have a bad day with this little bundle of serotonin running around! As wonderful as she is, Cilley does show an intense prey drive with chickens and other small woodland creatures, therefore she would be best in a home with no small animals such as: hamsters, rabbits, etc. She does live with cats in her foster home, and her prey drive does not care over to them thanks to being schooled a couple times by their “murder mittens”. (She does try to play with them in the absence of another dog…) *** Please note: Cilley’s foster parents believe in the bond obedience training creates between a dog and it’s owner, therefore Cilley is eligible for a $75 scholarship paid to the new owner after proof of basic obedience class competition. ***
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lucille, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
