Silken

My story

Silken came to us after his owner was moved to long term care. A visit to the vet found that his teeth were in terrible condition and he has now had all his teeth removed except for an upper and lower canine and a few little incisors on his bottom jaw. When he first arrived, he wouldn't eat anything but lick treats, a testimate to the pain he must have been feeling, because now he loves to eat nutritional, soft canned food. He is an affectionate guy who loves to be pet and likes to snuggle in your lap, but is not fond of being carried. He is vocal and loves to chat and remind you his food dish needs to be refilled. He would be best in a quiet home with older children, and a single human he could bond with. He is FIV/FelV negative, flea treated and dewormed, up to date on his vaccines and has been neutered. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING! An adoption application can be found at www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com (click on Adopt, then Cats for Adoption, then scroll to the bottom of the page). We require 2 non-familial references (including contact numbers) as well as permission to speak with your vet. An application does not guarantee an adoption. We match the kitty with the best family. You must be 21 years old to adopt. The adoption fee is $200. It may take up to 72 hours to approve your application. Please provide all requested information, including contact numbers, to help expedite the process. Repeated phone calls and emails will not move your application along. We are a volunteer, foster based rescue. We are not able to facilitate meet and greets before an application is received. You are not able to meet multiple kitties to see if one fits as the animals may be fostered in different locations. Please help us get the kitties to their forever homes faster by respecting these guidelines!
