My story

I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog E:11Do you like your chihuahuas with equal parts sugar and spice? Then Irma may be the girl for you! This tiny but mighty young senior has become a volunteer favorite due to her feisty personality and affectionate nature once she trusts someone. Irma’s likes include head, neck, and butt scratches, tasty treats, sniffing in the yard, and flirting with small (respectful) boy dogs. Her dislikes: pushy dogs and being picked up. While she tolerates being carried, she is no purse dog and would much rather make her own way, and does well on leash. Irma is looking for a calm, adult-only home with an adopter who is experienced with small dogs and will give her the time and space she needs to feel safe.
