My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.JAM hails from the Northern community of Sandy Lake and came south with her two sisters, Butter and Peanut to find her forever family. She’s received her first and second sets of vaccines, a microchip, dewormer and been deemed a healthy girl by her vet. The three sisters were found all alone with no mum so her breeds and the size she’ll grow to be is just an educated guess based on what she looks like. This laid back, chill girl is the outgoing one in the litter and the first to go investigating when there’s something new to discover. She loves to play with the many dog toys in her foster home and does favour the Nyla bones and other super chewy toys.  JAM is crate trained and sleeps quietly in it at night and will play in it during the day too. House training is still a work in progress and she will go on newspaper in the home if she isn’t taken outside quickly enough. She’s just started to go on walks and is slowly learning that she can go to the bathroom while outside too. Walking sometimes can be a bit slow as she loves to chase after the leaves blowing in the wind or chew on the many sticks that cover the sidewalk. Her foster says she’s one of the best puppies she’s ever had as she’s so quiet and loves to snuggle up to you. She has good manners and sits for her meals and takes her treats “gentle.”  JAM’s ideal family would be an active one that loves to go on hikes and walks in the woods. She does well in a vehicle so will always be up for a drive and especially if it leads to an adventure for her. She’ll do well in a home with other dogs as she’s fostered with several of them and they all get along. She’s also fostered with 3 kitties and will chase them around so she interact with them. We always recommend a slow and monitored introduction to other animals in the home. She should do well as an only pet in the home provided she’s not left alone for long periods of time. Children should be aged 6yrs and up plus be loving and gentle towards animals. She does require a fenced-in yard so she can be kept safe while she has a run around and play. Puppies are cute, playful and fun but also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We do need her adopter to be in agreement to take her for puppy/obedience training to help her to become the best girl possible. Her spay is included in her adoption fee and her potential adopter must be in agreement to have her spayed by the time she’s 6 months of age. The surgery will be at the Barrie SPCA but you can use your own vet and we’ll reimburse you what we would’ve paid for it there. In order for the rescue to do so we need the spay requirements to still be followed plus a copy of the procedure invoice and a picture of her (preferably in her onsie or cone) in order to do the reimbursement. We do post the picture on our fb page along with other pets that were “fixed” in the same week.  If JAM sounds like she’ll suit your family and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet her.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 29, 2025, 7:51 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt JAM, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
