My story

Whether it be a play session with toys, a good belly rub, or a lovely jog in the park, you will flip for Spatula the dog! Spatula is an excitable and energetic 50lb dog seeking a loving new family. Spatula came to the shelter as a stray dog. When an owner could not be found, Spatula was named everyone’s favorite kitchen utensil and prepared for adoption. Spatula has a lot of energy and can be strong on leash. He is a smart boy who would appreciate a dedicated family willing to work with him on manners and basic commands. We do not know about Spatula’s history with other animals and introduced Spatula to another dog here at the shelter. Spatula jumped on the other dog playfully and comes on very strong, in a way that canines who value their personal space do not always appreciate. If you have another doggy family member, please bring them to the shelter to meet Spatula and see if he is a good fit for your pack! This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a 5-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take this pet home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff!Be sure to check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours!
