My story

Dorothy is a 5-year-old, 40-pound Poodle mix with a curly coat and a spirit as bright as her beautiful light brown eyes. She’s been waiting patiently for someone to show her the love and life she deserves—and if you’re looking for a loyal, playful, and affectionate companion, Dorothy might just be your perfect match. Her favorite pastime? Playing ball in the backyard! She’s a high-energy girl at first, but once she’s had her playtime, she settles into a calm, cuddly sweetheart who just wants to be by your side. Dorothy also enjoys walks—just not too long when it’s hot out—and she has a rock-solid "sit" that she’ll happily show off for you. Dorothy would do best with an experienced dog owner who can continue to guide her as she blossoms. She’s eager to please and responds well to direction. She’d do best in a home without small children (she sometimes forgets she’s not a lap dog!) and could happily coexist with a calm, low-energy dog companion. Dorothy weighs 40 lbs. and is approximately 5.5 years old (est. birth date 11/22/2019). Dorothy has been spayed, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped.
