Kanan

My story

A27429 Kanan is a grey colored, approximately 1-year-old, 57-pound, neutered male, Pitbull. He entered the shelter as an owner surrender on 04-28-2025 due to the fact he had too much energy for his little kids. Kanan is a friendly, unsure, but easy to handle boy here at the shelter. He is still unsure in this shelter environment and trying to figure out why he is here. Our staff says he was really shy and timid at first but is getting better each day. He is now at the front of his kennel waiting for you to take him out on a walk. They now describe him as a playful, wiggly boy. He was easy to leash and well behaved during our walks. A little pulling in excitement but not bad and he listens well to his handler. He has had some training and will “sit” upon command. He has no interest in other dogs here at the shelter. The previous owner says he is house broken and has lived with children, but not other dogs or cats. They say he gets excited, as if he wants to play with other animals and he has too much energy around their small children. Nothing aggressive or mean, just excited. Kanan will be a fun-loving family member in his new forever home.
