Meet Deuce – The Energetic, Sweet Boy Who’s Ready to Be Your Adventure Buddy! 🐾✨ Deuce is a 1-year-old, 49-pound neutered male Border Collie mix who was surrendered to the shelter by his owner due to their busy work schedule. While his previous owner couldn’t give him the time he needed, Deuce is ready to find a home where he can be the energetic, loyal companion he truly is. Deuce is a smart, eager-to-please boy who’s lived with other dogs, cats, and children. Although he shows some kennel anxiety, once outside, he calms down and his true personality shines through. Deuce is easy to leash, well-behaved, and takes corrections well. While he’s eager to explore and meet people, he doesn’t pull much on leash and is attentive most of the time. This bright boy already knows sit, down, and shake, and he takes treats gently. He craves attention and loves being petted, making him a great fit for a family or individual who can give him the love and engagement he needs. Deuce is a high-energy dog who thrives on mental and physical stimulation. He would make a fantastic companion for someone who loves outdoor activities like hiking or running, and he’s looking for a home where he can burn off that energy with his person by his side. He has done well in our group play with other large dogs. Don’t let his kennel behavior discourage you – once he’s outside and with his person, he’s a happy, playful boy who will thrive in the right home.
