Name, age, breed: Boinger, 6yrs, Boston TerrierLikes: Chew Toys, Walks, Cuddling and interacting with peopleDislikes: Nervous in new surroundings and with new people but warms up quickly. Can be jumpy with sudden movements due to eye sightWhat would be the ideal home? A place that`s willing to give him encouragement while he becomes familiar with new experiences until he gains more confidence. Fenced in yard where he can explore and play. He also enjoys walks. No apartments recommended.Good with other cats? UnknownGood with dogs? Possibly. Only interaction has been with 75lbs submissive male dog which after a gradual introduction loved to play with. Good with children? Unknown, but would recommend an adult only homeTemperament: Very good natured but nervous in new situations. Motivators? Treats and encouragement. He wants to pleaseAny commands? Has almost mastered sit and comes to his name. House trained? Yes. Initial day had to watch to ensure he was not marking in the house. But no issues since Crate trained? YesHow long will it take to settle into a new environment? 3-3-3 rule: First 3 days - Your dog may be overwhelmed and may hide, have a lack of appetite, or test boundaries. Give them space and time to adjust in a quiet room with their bed, food, water, and toys. 3 weeks - Your dog may start to settle in and their personality will emerge. You can expect behavior issues to arise, so set boundaries and expectations with positive reinforcement training. 3 months - Your dog should be comfortable and acclimated to your home. They should know their routine and expect meals and enrichment at specific times.Any special needs or traits an adopter should know? Medical -On anxiety medication twice a day. Given his progress in a short time at his foster house it seems possible that this medication may be reduced or eliminated over time. No issues with him taking his pills. He did have one eye removed, and has a history of having discharge in the other eye. The remaining eye has limited vision but this doesn’t diminish his activity. Boinger travels well in a vehicle. Boinger will strive to be your best friend. Will get into any type of items, therefore making sure nothing is in his reach is necessary.Medical: May need a dental surgery in the future, previous eye removal, corneal scarringIf you think Boinger is the one for you -fill out
