My story

~ I want to live with adults and teens who are gentle and respectful of pets.~ I want to be the only pet in the home.~ I would like to live in a quiet home with not a lot of foot-traffic.Moon is a beautiful 3-year-old Domestic Shorthair with a sleek black coat and a personality as unique as her name. Weighing in at 9.2 pounds, this spayed female was surrendered in March after her previous family moved, and now she’s looking for another calm, loving home. Moon is used to a quiet household and would thrive in an adult home (gentle teens are okay too!) with people who respect her boundaries. She wants to be the queen of her castle—meaning no other pets, please. She’s independent and enjoys affection on her terms: soft pets and brushing are welcomed when she’s in the mood, but she’s not a fan of being picked up or handled too much. While she may be a bit shy or cautious at first, give her time and she’ll show you her playful side. Moon is curious, loves to explore bags and boxes, and will entertain herself (and you!) with toys and wand play. She’s an indoor-only cat who enjoys high-up spots where she can perch and watch the world go by—or spy on the birds outside the window. Just be sure to provide her with a extra tall vertical scratcher to keep her claws happy! Moon has a medium energy and vocal level. She isn’t fond of loud noises (such as vacuums and lawnmowers), so she’s hoping for a calm home with low foot traffic where she can feel safe and secure.
