My story

If you`re looking for the lapdog of a lifetime, look no further! Maxi boy is ready to be your perfect companion. Maxis (aka Max/Maxi) is a 20 pound wirehaired terrier mix. He is neutered and up-to-date on all shots. He`s also perfectly potty-trained and house trained, with no destructive behaviors. His energy level is medium-low. He occasionally gets the `zoomies` and enjoys playing with his toys, but doesn`t require walks and mostly just wants to snuggle. In the last month we have only heard him bark twice, and he barely sheds. What more could you ask for?Max LOVES his humans. He takes a few minutes to warm up and can seem shy at first, but once he knows you`re safe, he will never leave your side. Max`s favorite things to do are lay on your lap, get pets and kisses, and squeak his Lambchop toys. He will let you carry him like a baby and rub his belly. Max is currently being fostered with two cats and two dogs, but he would prefer to be an only pet. When he is on his human`s lap, if another pet approaches, he will sometimes growl at them. This is a form of resource guarding; he just loves his humans too much and doesn`t like to share! The dogs he lives with now take his cues very well and he has built a trusting relationship with them, so he no longer growls when they approach. It took about 3 weeks for them to form that bond. It is possible for Max to live with other pets, just know that it may take time, patience and training. Max would also prefer a home with adults or older children that will take it slow when getting to know him. Max has never shown any signs of resource guarding towards humans. His foster mom is able to take food and toys away from him without any issues. He also lets her give him baths, trim his nails and clean his ears. Overall, Max is the PERFECT dog for anyone looking for a sweet boy to spoil rotten. He is easy going and just looking for love. If you would like to learn more about Max or set up a time to meet him, contact his foster mom, Taylor Sale at taylor.r.keefer@gmail.com.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt MAXIS, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
