My story

Meet Dani – The Sweetest Shadow You’ll Ever Have! Dani is a 3 year old 50 lb black Lab mix with a heart as big as her soulful eyes. Recently surrendered by her former family, Dani was initially very nervous and unsure. But thanks to the love and patience of her foster family—and the companionship of her fellow foster dogs—she’s begun to truly blossom. Now thriving in her foster home, Dani is showing her true colors: affectionate, gentle, and deeply connected to the people she trusts. Her foster mom describes her as incredibly sweet and eager to be near her humans, often looking to them for comfort and direction. But what really makes Dani shine is having doggie siblings by her side. They give her the confidence to navigate the world with a little more ease and joy. When left completely alone, Dani’s sensitive side can emerge—she worries that danger might be near, and this can manifest as separation anxiety. However, with canine companions around, she’s significantly more at ease and grounded. Dani is fully house trained, well-mannered, and responds beautifully to a calm, steady routine. She’s the kind of dog who will thrive in a home where: Her people are around most of the time Patience and compassion are second nature Her body and mind will be engaged regularly She has at least one resident dog to lean on for companionship and confidence If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and emotionally intuitive companion—and you have a soft spot for dogs who just need a little extra reassurance—Dani could be the perfect addition to your pack.   The adoption fee is $350 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.  We're open from 12-4 PM every day EXCEPT Wednesday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Simply drop by and if you find a potential new furry friend, you can fill out an application on the day you visit. Go to townandcountryanimalrescue.org to fill out our digital application. Applications are typically processed in 3-5 business days.  Once you're approved, you can return on the date and time set up by your adoption counselor, with your family for a meet and greet.
