Hi. My name is TABBY (Abby) and here's a bit about me:Breed: Pomeranian/Corgi MixAge: 3 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: 25 lbsHeight: 12 inHighlights: Calm, sweet, curious, friendly, inquisitive I love going for walks and anxiously wait at the door with you when you get my leash ready. After a rough start; someone burnt my tail area when I was a puppy and now I only have a little nub remaining, I grew up in a shelter. While still learning about the good life, I haven’ttyet taken to toys and am hesitant about eating. I can’t believe all this food is for me! I have a delightful quirk with treats, when I think it’s safe, I will bring my treats to a soft spot and rub and bounce on it for a while before I eat it. My rescuer thinks it is delightful to watch. I still have much to learn about being a loved dog, and not just surviving. I will need a gentle, loving hand in helping my transition to a life of luxury.Yah, I know... but my name isn't Tubby, though I do need to lose a couple pounds. LOL.Mostly shy of people at first, I rested under my foster's dinner table when she arrived. After about 3 weeks, I started to trust them. Soon though, I was resting on the couch with them and greeting them at the door when they came home. I just needed soace to decide about trusting. So, while shy with people at first, and weary of loud noises, I am brave and will investigate. I need a patient, loving home that gives me time to trust and show my personality. They say I was a breeze at housetraining. That must mean I am really smart. While I love my walks, I don't pull. It is recommended to get an GPS tracker or airtag for me, just in case I give you the slip... as I haven't recall skills yet. I am good in the car and was great at the groomers.I'm not a barker and get along with dogs and cats inside or outside. I also have the cutest, little underbite. Videos on the way. Energy Level: low - moderateI get along with:Dogs: YesCats: unknown, rescuer states yes, but no video proofKids: unknown, rescuer states yes 12 yrs +, but no video proof Fears: Initially shy. Weary of loud noises, but overcome my trepidation. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.TrainingLeash skills: yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis. ##2382368##
